Thanksgiving – an American holiday – reminding us that we escaped tyranny to embrace freedom –

One of the major freedoms we wished to embrace – freedom of religion –

At our family thanksgiving dinner we went around the table and gave thanks for . . . the recurring themes were . . .

Family – coming together to enjoy each other’s company.

Freedom – several of us mentioned the freedom we have in our country . . . there were also thanks to the men and women who stand watch (and those who have stood watch in the past) over us so that we can enjoy our freedom.

Salvation – at our table we are all children of God . . . having accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.  Which brings us back to freedom . . . we are able to freely practice our love for Christ by freely meeting in public, sharing with others, corporate worship without fear of persecution.

I hope that you took time to reflect on what you are thankful for . . .
